Research Themes

My research is focalised on the role of the ocean in the climate variability and in ocean forecasting.

With my colleagues of the MEOM team and those of the international DRAKKAR consortium [read more], we are developing an integrated modelling approach which gathers numerical models, observation and data assimilation to realize realistic simulations of the global ocean general circulation that are relevant to describe the ocean and sea-ice variability of the recent decades (from the 1950's to present) and to study the dynamical processes that generate variability in the ocean over a wide range of space and time scales.

Those activities concern a wide range of scientific fields such as physical oceanography, geophysical fluid dynamics, air-sea interactions, numerical modelling, high performance computing, statistical data analysis and processing, ...
