The second edition of the Thematic School on Recrystallization took place last week, November 7 to 11, in Sète, France (school website).
This school, financed by CNRS with the contribution of the ESF project MicroDICE, LGGE and CEMEF laboratories, gathered 40 participants, among them a few foreigners, around the theme of recrystallization in metals, rocks and ice.
Once more, participants strongly appreciated the quality of the sessions (courses and practicals), and the great availability of the speakers. Thanks to the time slots devoted to the participant presenting their own research topics, we all took advantage of fruitful exchanges on subject as various as Earth mantle deformation, recrystallization in high entropy alloys or rolling of industrial steels.
This school took place in the frame of the GDR “Recrystallization” (2010-2014) that should be launched again for the period 2017-2020 (GDR website).
